Kings, Kurasks and Smarter Bots!

Posted on: September 13, 2026

Buckle up, this one's a big one. We've been heads-down for the past few weeks and there's a lot to unpack, so grab a cup of tea and let's go through it.

Five new bosses, and a loot rework to go with them

The Giant Mole, Chaos Elemental, and all three Dagannoth Kings (Prime, Rex and Supreme) are now live and fully lootable. While we were in there we also quietly overhauled how loot gets handed out at these fights: instead of one lucky (or unlucky) person hoovering up the whole kill, everyone who genuinely tanked hits or chipped in damage now gets their own independent roll on the bones, the hard clue, their KC, the pet chance and the boss's drop table. Simple concept, but it makes group kills feel a lot fairer, and it's the same system we plan to keep rolling out to more bosses going forward.

Collection log growth

The collection log has grown from 354 entries to a chunky 388 — that's 34 brand new things to chase, mostly tied to the new bosses above.

Superior slayer monsters

Four new superiors have crawled out of the woodwork: Abhorrent Spectre, King Kurask, Marble Gargoyle and Nechryarch. Two of the older superiors, Cave Abomination and Abyssal Guardian, have also had their models upgraded so they finally look as threatening as they hit.

New tasks

We've added task sets for Jad and the TzHaar, plus fresh tasks for Dagannoth and Nechryael kills, so there's more to tick off while you're grinding slayer or running fight caves.

World events

All five new bosses now have their own world events. Fair warning on the Giant Mole one though: its event specifically nudges the pet rate, and honestly that's about the nicest thing we can say for it. Everything else it does, you'll just have to find out yourself.

Under the hood

Random events got a proper fix this patch. They could previously teleport you away mid-instance from content like the Gnome Champion arena, destroying the instance and leaving you stranded. That can no longer happen: random events are now blocked entirely while you're inside any instance, current or future, so Mime, Maze, the Old Man and friends will politely leave you alone until you're back in the normal world. We also split the players-online counter on the front page so it now shows real players and bots separately instead of lumping them together, and yes, our bots got a brain upgrade too, so don't be too surprised if they're playing a bit smarter than you remember.

As always, there's a pile of smaller bug fixes bundled in alongside all this that we won't bore you with individually. Enjoy the update, and we'll see you in the Kings' lair.
