Halloween Returns & Extreme Firsts Begin!

The nights are getting longer, the pumpkins are glowing, and something is stirring in the dark. The Halloween event has returned to 2006Plus, restored and refreshed with a new reward path, a darker atmosphere and a brand-new rare weapon. At the same time, the most dangerous account mode on the server gets its biggest competitive feature yet: Extreme Firsts, a permanent race for world-first records that will be written into server history for good.

Two big updates, one huge release. Grab your lantern, say goodbye to your free inventory slots and read on.

Halloween Returns

The Spooky season is back, and with it the rituals many of you remember. While the Spooky world event is running, the Sacrificial Pyres burn again, the Grim Reaper wanders in to unsettle the living, and Death's Chest waits for anyone brave enough to feed the flames. The familiar activities, sacrifices and rewards are all here, but we have not simply dusted off the old event. Several parts of it have been reworked, tidied up and made safer, so you can gamble with confidence and not lose an item to a stale dialogue.

Halloween now feels darker, brighter and more supernatural. Ritual fires and magical chests cast coloured light across their surroundings, from the green glow of the Sacrificial Pyres to the pale white and violet flames that answer a successful offering. Turn on the lighting in your HD settings and the whole area comes alive as the flames flicker over the ground, the props and the other players gathered around them.

Death's Coins

The biggest change to Halloween rewards is the end of new Halloween masks and scythes. They are no longer handed out through the renewed event, and in their place comes a new family of seasonal collectibles: Death's Coins.

  • Death's Silver Coin is the bread and butter of the event. Ordinary Halloween rewards, including trick-or-treating and the Grim Reaper's gifts, now pay out in Silver Coins.
  • Death's Gold Coin is the prize for the bold. Sacrifice your Silver Coins on the Pyres and the flames may repay you with Gold. Nothing is guaranteed, and the fire keeps what it takes.
  • Gold Coins have a second purpose: they are one of the offerings that can call Death's Chest to the flames, where the rarest Halloween rewards are decided.

Do not worry about your old collection. Halloween masks and scythes already in your possession have not gone anywhere. They remain yours, they remain tradeable and they stay valid for use at the flames. They are simply now historic collectibles, a mark of the players who were there for earlier Halloweens, and nobody can hand out new ones.

The Grim Reaper

The Grim Reaper has returned as part of the Spooky world-event content, appearing at random to test your nerve. Treat him kindly, or do not, and he may leave you with Death's Silver Coins or the coveted Reaper robes: the hood, the robe top and the robe bottom. A handful of useful supplies, such as supply crates and bone bags, are mixed in too, so even an unlucky visit is rarely a waste.

He will not hand out Halloween masks, and he keeps his Gold Coins to himself. His job is to scare you, to reward you modestly and to make you want more.

Sacrifices & Rare Rewards

This is where Halloween gets serious. At the Sacrificial Pyres you can burn your seasonal rewards and take a chance at something better. Silver Coins can be sacrificed for a chance at Death's Gold Coins. Offer a Gold Coin, or one of the eligible Halloween pets, and you may call Death's Chest to the flames.

A warning from the flames: sacrifices are final. Certain Halloween pets can also be offered to the Pyres, and when they go into the fire they do not come back. The game will ask you to confirm before anything irreversible happens, so read the prompt carefully and sacrifice wisely.

When the offering is accepted, Death's Chest answers. Its rarest contents are marked by supernatural purple flames and a chest that glows as though it were holding something alive. Among the rare Halloween rewards that can be found there:

  • Death's cloak, the classic Halloween trophy.
  • Grim's axe and Death's door, prestigious seasonal uniques.
  • Enchanted pumpkin, a rare piece of Halloween history.
  • Ancient sword, brand new this Halloween.
  • A small chance at the Ultima Reaper pet, the ultimate Halloween companion.

Rare finds are announced to the world, so everyone will know when someone has had a very good night.

The Ancient Sword

"A very old sword from an ancient knight." The Ancient sword is a rare Halloween weapon and the newest addition to the seasonal collection. It carries the same unusual double-hit quirk as the Ice cutlass, striking a second time now and then, while its own stat profile sits slightly below the cutlass. It will not replace the best weapons in the game, and it is not trying to. Its appeal is its rarity, its seasonal prestige and the way it fights. When you see one in the wild, you will know exactly where it came from.

Seasonal Collection Log

Halloween's uniques now have a proper home. The Collection Log has a brand-new Seasonal section, and your seasonal rewards are recorded there the moment you obtain them. Current entries include:

  • The Ultima Reaper pet and the Halloween pet Jack, alongside the festive pets Tiny Clause and Bun.
  • The full set of Reaper robes: hood, robe top and robe bottom.
  • Death's cloak, Death's door, Grim's axe and Enchanted pumpkin.
  • The new Ancient sword.

Twelve seasonal collectibles are waiting, and every one of them is a story. Completionists, this is your hunt.

Extreme Firsts

Extreme Ironman is the most dangerous and most prestigious way to play 2006Plus. Survival is never assured, every decision matters and every milestone is earned the hard way. Extreme Firsts gives that struggle something to chase. Extreme Ironmen now compete for permanent world-first records, with their names announced to the whole server and kept in the record books for good.

You can speak to the Extreme Firsts Keeper in Lumbridge to browse every achievement, see who has already claimed what and discover what is still up for grabs.

Race Within Your XP Rate

Every XP-rate category has its own competition. Choose from the 1x to 10x rates, 15x, 20x, 25x or Progressive, and you race only against players who made the same choice. That means First 99 Attack at 1x is a completely different achievement from First 99 Attack at 10x, and each of them has its own winner. Likewise, First 99 Attack and First 99 Strength are separate records. It is not one generic race to 99, it is hundreds of races inside every rate, and there are close to three thousand possible records across the server.

Because the records are independent, one player can claim several of them. Be first to many things and the server will remember you for all of them.

Skills, XP & Bosses

Every individual skill has its own ladder of firsts:

  • First level 92 and First level 99 in each skill.
  • First 25m, 50m, 100m, 150m and 200m XP in each skill.

So First 99 Attack, First 50m Magic XP and First 200m Slayer XP are all separate achievements with their own winners, in every rate category.

The bosses are in the race too. For each supported boss there are two firsts: the First Kill and the First 25 kills. Look for names such as Zulrah, the Kraken, TzTok-Jad, Scurrius, the Nightmare, the Thermonuclear Smoke Devil, the Empress and Ursine on the list, and be the first in your rate category to bring one down.

Pets, Collection Log & Special Firsts

Some firsts honour a particular style of play:

  • First Skilling Pet and First Boss Pet are prestigious milestones, awarded once in each XP-rate category for the first Extreme Ironman to obtain one.
  • First 100, 200 and 300 Collection Log entries are a race for completionists. Only unique Collection Log entries count, so duplicates will not help you.
  • First Maxed Extreme Ironman goes to the first account to reach the top in every skill.
  • First Quest Cape belongs to the first player to legitimately complete every required quest and earn the cape. Using the quest-skip option disqualifies you, so there are no shortcuts to this one.

Permanent Winners

This is the heart of it. Once an Extreme First is claimed in a rate category, that record is taken forever. Nobody can overtake it, replace it or share it. And even if the winner later meets a grim end, the record stays exactly where it is. A world first is history, and history does not get rewritten. Every first is announced to the whole server in-game, and shared with the community on Discord, so the moment you earn one, everyone will know your name.

Exclusive Rewards

Every first you claim awards Extreme Firsts Tokens, which can be spent in an exclusive reward store available to Extreme Ironmen only:

  • The Extreme Ironman pet costs 1 token. This miniature golden Ironman comes in male and female forms, and you can switch between them with Metamorphosis. It is more than a cosmetic: other players can inspect your pet to see the world firsts its owner has earned. Wear your achievements where everyone can see them.
  • The Life Token costs 2 tokens. It is not a physical item. It permanently unlocks protection from one dangerous Extreme Ironman death, the kind that would otherwise end your account. When that protection has saved you, it is gone permanently and can never be bought again. It does not remove the ordinary penalties of dying, so you will still lose what you would normally lose, but your run will live on. Spend it wisely, because you only get one.
  • The Cursed Ancient Blade costs 1 token. A dark, blackened version of the Ancient blade with slightly reduced stats, it is a rare prestige reward for players who have proven themselves in the race.

Also in This Update

  • Seasonal rewards now properly appear in your Collection Log when you obtain them.
  • Sacrifice prompts are clearer, with explicit warnings before anything irreversible happens, and a number of Halloween edge cases were fixed.
  • Rare Halloween drops are now announced reliably, including when several are found together.
  • The Halloween area has received an atmospheric lighting pass, with coloured light from ritual fires, flames and magical chests.

Make History

Halloween will not last forever, but a record in the books will. Head out into the dark and join the Spooky event, burn your Silver Coins with a steady hand and hunt down every seasonal collectible until the Seasonal Collection Log is complete. Chase the purple flames, claim Death's rarest rewards and show the server what you are made of.

And if you walk the Extreme path, the Keeper is waiting. Pick your rate, pick your race and be the first. Claim a world first, earn your tokens and carve your name into 2006Plus history, permanently.

Happy Halloween, and good luck out there.
